AARON SHECHET


Aaron Shechet earned a Bachelor's with Honors in Economics from UC Santa Barbara before earning his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law with a Certificate from the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law, of which he served as an Executive Board Member and is currently a Fellow.

While at Santa Barbara, Mr. Shechet started a café which served over 1100 dorm residents.  He also served as President of his dorm and volunteered for a Congressional Campaign.

His paper on NAFTA and Maquiladoras was cited in “Politics Canada” in July, 2004.

While earning his law degree, Mr. Shechet worked for a large publicly traded company in both the Legal and Human Resources Departments.  While there, he drafted numerous internal forms and established policies, rules, and processes.  Among other accomplishments, Mr. Shechet created the company'sEmployee Handbook, Consumer Claims Process, Revised License Agreements, Assisted in the Creation of their Records Retention Program, and Restructured their Patent Application Process -- successfully reducing throughput from four months to thirty days.
 

 

After graduating from Pepperdine, Mr. Shechet had an Internship with the California Department of Corporations.  One of his most involved assignments during this time was an investigation in conjunction with the Chino Police Department, which led to a Criminal Referral to the California Attorney General in relation to Securities Fraud.

While at Pepperdine, Mr. Shechet served as Vice-President and then President of the Federalist Society and co-founded the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship & the Law -- only the fourth scholarly journal in the history of the Pepperdine School of Law.

Aaron Shechet grew up in Los Angeles.  He is an avid stock trader and rockclimber.
